Albert Henry Prilipp, age 85, a resident of Masonicare of Newtown, formerly of Seymour and Southbury, the beloved husband of 58 years of Dorothy Cashin Prilipp, entered into peaceful rest on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Seymour on October 25, 1926, son of the late Albert and Adeline Kort Prilipp.
Al was a communicant of The Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford.
He retired in 1989 after 32 years of service for the EH Kneen Company of Ansonia where he was a Foreman. Al was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed his family and his vegetable garden and loved sitting under the shade of the chestnut tree on Shelton Street in Seymour.
His loving family in addition to his wife Dorothy includes his caring daughter Karen Quoka and her husband John of Oxford, his loving son Wayne R. Prilipp of Seymour, his cherished granddaughter Pamela Quoka of Oxford, his devoted brother Herman Prilipp of Roanoke, VA and several loving nieces and nephews.
Al was predeceased by his beloved daughter Dorrine Lee Prilipp and his loving brothers Richard and Frederick Prilipp.
The family of Albert would like to offer a special heartfelt thanks to all the caring staff at Masonicare of Newtown, especially the Hospice Team for their excellent and loving care of Albert.
A Memorial Service in Celebration of Albert’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Rt. 67), Seymour with the Rev. Bruce Steinway, Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford, officiating.
Military Honors will follow the Memorial Service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until the start of the service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Albert’s memory may be made to the Quality Of Life Fund Of Masonicare Of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Rd, Newtown, CT 06470 or through the funeral home.
