Albert J. Satkowski, Jr.

Albert J. Satkowski, Jr., age 52, husband of Maura (McEvoy) Satkowski and resident of Oxford, entered into eternal rest June 22.

He was born Jan. 26, 1962 in Derby, son of the late Albert and Mary Uhelsky Satkowski, Sr.

He graduated from Seymour High School in 1979 and attended Sacred Heart University, where he was selected as a recipient of the National Honor Society. He worked as the Lead Man in the Overhaul and Repair (O&R) Department of Sikorsky Aircraft in Shelton, and was part of the elite Presidential Helicopter Squadron (HMX) for over 33 years. He also worked at the former Johnnie’s Service Station in Derby.

He proudly served as a supernumerary police officer for the City of Derby for 20 years, and was a member of the police union, Local AFSCME #1376. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 1150.

Albert was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church in Derby and a member of the Derby Lodge of Elks #571.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Erin Mary Satkowski and son Albert John Satkowski III, both of Oxford, two sisters, Mary Ann Satkowski and Patricia Bruce (Randy) both of Seymour, three brothers, Matthew J. Satkowski (Katie) of Southbury, Peter J. Satkowski (Dana) of Beacon Falls and Paul J. Satkowski (Sandie) of Seymour, Mother-in-law Rita McEvoy of Derby, sister-in-law Amy Cobaugh (David) of Derby and several nieces, nephews, one great niece and one great nephew. Albert was predeceased by his father-in-law James D. McEvoy, and great nephew Isaiah Bruce.

Friends may call on Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King& Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m., with friends asked to go directly to St. Michael’s Church in Derby. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.

Friends who wish may make donations to the Albert J. Satkowski, Jr. Children’s Educational Fund through the funeral home.
