Alberta Petrocelli, age 87, of Ansonia entered into rest peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday February 18, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Dominick J. Petrocelli.
She was born on January 20, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Alberto and Marie (Massa) Capece.
Alberta spent her working career as an inspector for the former Auto Swage company for many years before her retirement. Mostly she enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family and spending time with her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Dominick A. Petrocelli, her son-in-law Donald Ragozzine, her grandchildren Megan Muzzi and her fiance David Velardi, Michelle Geltman and her husband Andrew, Lydia McCarthy and her husband Kevin, and Anthony Petrocelli and his wife Meghan, her great grandchildren Ayden Geltman, Hailey Muzzi, Chase Muzzi, Tyler McCarthy, Nico Petrocelli, and Avery Velardi, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Ragozzine, her daughter-in-law Lorraine Petrocelli, and several brothers and sisters.
Friends are invited to greet Alberta’s family on Tuesday February 21 from 4 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:45 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St. Ansonia, CT 06401. Her burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, 28 Howard Ave. Ansonia, CT 06401.
