Aldea E. Dokla

Aldea E. Dokla, age 86, beloved wife of 50 years to the late John M. Dokla and resident of Shelton, entered into eternal rest at home on December 7.

She was born Sept. 20, 1928 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Ovide & Aldea Veillette Lavallee.

She worked as a color printer for the former National School Studios of Derby and worked in the footwear division of UniRoyal Co. in Naugatuck. Aldea had a genuine, deep spirituality that displayed itself through a loving and caring personality. Always thoughtful and generous, she had a special tenderness toward animals. A lifelong learner, she imparted the joy and wonder of discovery to her son.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Carl P.J. Dokla & his wife Janice of Rindge, New Hampshire, her sister Doris Gisondi & her husband Joseph of Port Orange, Florida and her dear friend Leroy Glover of Shelton. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur J. Lavallee and sister Blanche Lavallee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 105 Clifton Ave. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Derby. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Boys & Girls Club of Ansonia through the funeral home.
