Alice McCarthy, 99-year-old lifelong Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest at St. Mary Home in West Hartford on Oct. 7.
She was born Feb. 16, 1916 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Michael & Anna Collins McCarthy.
She graduated from Ansonia High School. In later years, she received her associates degree from Sacred Heart University. She retired from Griffin Hospital where she was a secretary in the medical records department.
She was the youngest of 12 children and predeceased by her 7 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors are 3 nephews, Eugene (Gail) McCarthy of Stratford, Harold (Diane) Valois of Beacon Falls and Leon (Sandy) McCarthy of Ansonia and 2 nieces, Audrey Cassem of West Hartford and Maureen (Tom) Bachelder of Easton.
Friends may call on Monday, Oct. 12 from 9:30 to10:30 at the Jenkins-King and Malerba Funeral Home at 12 Franklin St., Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) The mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St., Ansonia at 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Assumption Church School.
