Alice T. Lombardi, 89, a lifelong resident of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, January 20, 2014, at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of Michael Lombardi Jr.
Mrs. Lombardi was born in Derby on August 13, 1924, daughter of the late Mario and Maria DeAngelis Tarini.
She was a graduate of Derby High School and earned her Associates Degree at the former CT Junior College in Bridgeport. She was employed in the clerical department at Hull Dye & Print Works in Derby and Brennan Construction in Shelton until her retirement. Alice was a communicant of St. Jude Church in Derby and enjoyed cooking, reading, painting and knitting and crocheting.
In addition to her husband Michael, she is survived by a loving daughter, Marlene L. Cavagnuolo and her husband Joseph of Trumbull, cherished grandson, Jared Cavagnuolo and his fiancée Stephanie Webster of Boston, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Rino, Dino “Leo”, Aldo and Gino Tarini.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 23, 2014, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Jude Church, 71 Pleasant View Road in Derby. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
