Amanda Marilyn Alarcon

Amanda Marilyn Alarcon, age 36, lifelong Shelton resident, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital late Thanksgiving night after a long aggressive battle with Sarcoidosis.

Amanda, AKA Nonnie, AKA Bear to all who held her dear, was a graduate of Shelton High School and St. Vincent’s Nursing School. She worked for several years at St. Vincent’s Hospital as an RN on the cardiac floor.

Amanda loved being out in the sunshine with her boys, making snow angels, having her friends over, hanging on the porch” watching sunsets, the smell of rain, the sound of the ocean, going to the beach, Yankee games, journaling, scrapbooking, word puzzles, and painting motivational rocks. Nonnie was always in a rush, always filled her days, perhaps she knew her time here was to be too short.

In addition to her parents, Lisa (Jeff) Gydus, Joseph G. Alarcon, and stepfather Mark Nacovitch, Amanda leaves behind her two sons, Jaidyn Alarcon and Nicholas Brown her nephew Joseph Alarcon. She loved those three boys with all her heart. Nonnie leaves her brothers Joseph M. Alarcon and Johnny Nacovitch, sister Taylor (Dan) McCue, aunts Dawn (David) Alarcon, Shawn Jane” (Cliff) Bauman, great aunt Carmella Cassidy, her grandparents Theresa DiPasquale, James Monroe, and Joseph D. Alarcon. She also leaves behind many cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by grandmother Patricia Alarcon and aunt Marilyn DiPasquale. With a heart of gold, Amanda was as tough as they come and fought till the end. May she sit above the clouds with her Pat Grammy and Aunt Marilyn till we meet again. Kiss Kiss.
