Anastazia Sidorow, of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of the late Jan Sidorow, died Saturday July 4, 2009 at Griffin Hospital in Derby.
She was 85.
Mrs. Sidorow was born in Poland on Aug. 11, 1923, daughter of the late Ignacy and Maria Halushchak Snihur.
A resident of Beacon Falls for several years, she previously resided on a small farm in Easton for 30 years and in Orange for 10 years. She was employed as a housekeeper and a nanny for many years and especially enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by a son, John J. Sidorow of Beacon Falls, two daughters, Mary T. Tolnai of Seymour and Anna Sidorow and her husband Charles Giannelli of Haddam, five grandchildren, Jennifer Syrowsky and her husband Joseph of Beacon Falls, Eric Tolnai of Naples, FL, Paul Sidorow of Derby, Christina Sidorow of Ansonia and Victoria Pells of Hartford, three great-grandchildren Deonte, Kaitlyn, and Joey and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Road in Orange.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 7, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FH. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492 or through the funeral home.
