Andrew D. Altorelli, 66, beloved husband of 40 years to Priscilla Hibbard Altorelli and resident of Seymour entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Gardner Heights Health Care Center in Shelton.
Andrew was born on December 1, 1947 in Derby the son of the late Andrew and Aida Ferri Altorelli.
He attended Derby schools and was a resident of Seymour the past 39 years. Andrew was a member and past captain of the Hotchkiss Hose Company #1 in Derby. Andrew was a retired baker and had practiced his trade at the Culinary Shop in Shelton, Eddie’s Bake Shop in Ansonia, Klarides Supermarket and Adam’s Supermarket in Derby, and Big Y in Bethel. He was known for his delicious rye bread.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter Christina Cieri and her husband Richard of Prospect, 4 brothers, Alphonse Altorelli and his wife Deborah and John Altorelli of New Milford; Paul Altorelli and his wife Danielle of Roxbury; Richard Altorelli and his wife Lisa of Orange; and four sisters, Frances Black and Sharon Narducci and her husband Tony of New Milford; Shirley Colman and her husband Frank of Massachusetts and Theresa Altorelli of California. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gardner Heights for the loving care that they provided to Andrew and his family. A very special thank you to Kenneth E. Mancher, M.D. and W. Neal Pearson, M.D. for their many years of compassionate care.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 9:00 a.m. at The Great Hill United Methodist Church, 225 Great Hill Road, Seymour.
