Andrew D. “Andy” Wysowski, age 92, of Derby entered into rest on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of the late Edwina (Bialek) Wysowski. Andy was born in Derby on June 27, 1929 son of the late Andrew and Helen (Roscoe) Wysowski and was a Shelton resident for most of his life. He received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Bridgeport and a Bachelor of Engineering from UCONN. Andy proudly served with the US Navy from 1947 – 1950.
He was an electrical engineer for 30 years for SNET. After his retirement, he was a self-employed contractor for 10 years for the City of New York specializing in fiber-optic phone wire. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed going to the casino. Andy had a passion for the sport of bowling. He was a member of the Southbury Bowling League. Andy had a very active life. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family. He would like to leave these words: “years pass as rapidly at the polka dances I used to attend; however, years should be as equally enjoyable and beautifully-lived as a crowd set to such music!”
Andy was the beloved father of Andrea Butler, Michelle Wysowski and her partner Mari Martino and the late John A. Wysowski and loving grandfather of Julianna Butler and James Butler.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Monday, His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. at St. Michael Church. Military honors will follow his mass. Burial will be private in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
