Andrew J. Mendyk Jr., 65, entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2016, at Bridgeport Hospital.
Andrew was born in Derby on Sept. 27, 1950, son of the late Andrew J. Mendyk Sr. and Michalina Gagliardi Mendyk.
A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed as the general manager of the former Valley Bowl in Derby for forty years.
Andrew was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NHRA Drag Racing and enjoyed his annual vacations to Aruba. He was a member of the Joseph A. Doyle Senior Center and the Central Subalpi Club both in Ansonia.
He is survived by a loving son, Darryl M. Mendyk of St. Mary’s, GA, sisters, Sandra Mendyk of Ansonia and Cynthia Densmore of Claremont, NH and grandchildren, Alexis and Ryan Mendyk.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Andrew’s life on Friday August 19, 2016, from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
