Angela Valenti

Angela Valenti, 78, of Ansonia, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday evening, December 9, 2010, at the Griffin Hospital, with her loving family by her side. 

Miss Valenti was born in Collesano, Palermo, Sicily, Italy on March 21, 1932, daughter of the late Rosario and Francesca Ruffino Valenti. A resident of Ansonia since 1974, she was employed at the former Charlton Press in Derby, Comco Company in Bridgeport, and retired from New England Cap, formerly of Ansonia. Angela enjoyed cooking for her family, visiting the casinos, and traveling to Italy. Although never having any children, Angela was a caring mother to everyone. 

She is survived by 3 beloved brothers, Paolo Valenti and Giuseppe Valenti of Ansonia, and Salvatore Valenti and his wife Maria of Bridgeport, a beloved sister, Antonia Siragusa of Milan, Italy, a sister in law, Rosalia Valenti of Ansonia and several cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Filippo Valenti, a sister, Ignazia Curcio, and a sister in law, Giuseppina Valenti. 

Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 – 7 pm. The Valenti family extends a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Maria Grazia Mazzacco, for her help, guidance and compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Angela’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.
