Angelina Catone

Angelina Catone, 77, of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Pasquale Catone, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2011, at Griffin Hospital, following a short illness. 

Mrs. Catone was born in Formicola, Caserta, Italy on March 14, 1933, daughter of the late Angelo and Rosa Colapietro. In 1962, she and her family immigrated from Italy to Youngstown, OH, then lived in Derby for many years, and lastly Ansonia. Angelina deeply loved her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them. 

She is survived by 3 sons, Gaetano Catone and Angelo Catone of Ansonia, and John Catone of Seymour, 2 daughters, Eva Catone and Rosa Catone of Ansonia, a brother, Pasquale Colapietro of Ansonia, 2 sisters, Michelina DiLorenzo of Ansonia and Alfonsina DiRubba of Derby, 3 granddaughters, Angela, Brittany, and Jasmine, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Giovanni, Giuseppe, and Antonio Colapietro and a sister Christine Derrico. 

Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday January 20, 2011, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 pm.
