Angelo DiSorbo, age 82, of Ansonia entered into rest on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Maria (Durante) DiSorbo.
Angelo was born in Ruviano, Italy, on December 17, 1933, son of the late Leone and Anna Maria (Coppola) DiSorbo.
He grew up in Ruviano, Italy and settling in Derby in 1958. Later, he moved to Ansonia where he lived for most of his life. Angelo was a forklift operator at the former B.F. Goodrich. He continued his employment in maintenance services at Amity High School and the Derby Nursing Home until his retirement.
Angelo was known for being easy going and enjoyed making wine, gardening, playing bocci, and going to Osbornedale State Park and spending time with his friends.
Most of all, he loved family get togethers. He is the loving father of Anna Maria Onofrio and her husband Biagio, Leo DiSorbo and his wife Maria, and Filomena Lavorgna and her husband Gino, brother of, Amedeo DiSorbo, Carmella Tessitore and Nettina Valente and her husband Luigi.
Angelo is the beloved grandfather of, Marcello, Anthony and Maria Onofrio, Angelo and Cristina DiSorbo and Giovanna, Gino, Gabriella and Gianni Lavorgna.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Angelo is predeceased by a brother, Luigi DiSorbo and a sister, Theresa Morrone.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby.
Friends are invited to go directly to Assumption Church, 61 N Cliff St, Ansonia, on Monday at 11 am for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum.
