Angelo M. Torres Jr., 68, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2015, at Yale-New Haven Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Linda Mirabella Torres.
Mr. Torres was born in New York, NY on January 15, 1947, son of the late Angelo M. and Olga Torres Sr. He was employed as a truck driver until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Angelo was a “cowboy at heart” having loved the West, horses and watching western movies. He was a member of the CT Hurricanes and NY Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, TSGT Matthew M. Torres, USAF, currently stationed in Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Ansonia and Michael A. Torres of CA, step-sons, Jason Bailey of Newtown, Eric Bailey of Watertown and Stephen Bailey of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Rafael Torres.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2015, from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Angelo’s life will be held with Deacon Richard Renker officiating, followed by U.S. Navy military honors. Burial will be private.
