Anita J. Plaumann, age 87, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 18, 2022, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late George J. Plaumann Sr.
Anita was born in New York, NY on September 27, 1934, daughter of the late Jerome and Minnie DeNittis. A resident of Ansonia since 1960, she had worked as a waitress at the former Friendly’s Restaurant in Milford and later as a secretary at Yale-New Haven Hospital, until her retirement. Anita was active in Ansonia politics years back and even ran for a seat on the Board of Alders. She was a former Girl Scout Leader in Ansonia and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cooking, and reading the newspaper, keeping up on current events. Most importantly, Anita loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Patricia L. Plaumann and Minna-Ann Bush (Eric Sr.) of Ansonia, sons, George J. Plaumann Jr. of Ocean Park, ME and Robert A. Plaumann of New Haven, grandchildren, Christina Coppola of Prospect and Eric Bush Jr. (Briana) of New Milford, great-granddaughters, Avery and Alessia and feline companions, Albert and Precious.
