Ann E. Constantino, 97, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 21, 2014, in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Dominic C. Constantino.
Mrs. Constantino was born in New York, NY on Sept. 16, 1916, daughter of the late Anthony and Antoinette Tornio Zappulla. She was a graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury.
A resident of Ansonia for over 65 years, she was employed in retail sales for many stores in the New Haven area including the former Macy’s and Casual Corner. Ann loved to help people and volunteered her time helping residents at Marshall Lane Manor in Derby. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and its Rosary Guild and also served as president of the Ansonia Lavender Booster Club many years ago. Ann enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling and visiting the casinos.
She is survived by two loving and devoted sons, John A. Constantino (Jaimie) of Derby and Frederick C. Constantino of Naugatuck, a sister, Connie DelNegro of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Salvatore and Anthony J. Zappulla and sisters, Frances Insolia, Gloria Zappulla, Corrine Carlascio and Mary Russo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 25, 2014, at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Visiting will take place on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church Organ Fund through the funeral home.
