Ann S. Lemak (Cassidy), age 100, of Oxford, the beloved wife of the late Anthony Lemak, Jr., entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
She was born in Bridgeport on October 3, 1916, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Galai Sebestyen. Ann was a communicant of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Seymour where she made over 500 prayer shawls that were shared across the world and even worn by a former Governor of Connecticut. She was a homemaker who was very active in her children’s schools and was a world traveler who loved to garden, cook and read books. Ann will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts.
Her family includes her loving daughter Toni Anne Cassidy and her husband Eugene, Jr., her four cherished grandsons Eugene, III and his wife Kathleen, Matthew and his wife Christine, Michael and Anthony and her beloved great grandson Lucas. Ann was predeceased by her sons, infant Anthony, III and Michael, her siblings Helen, Frank and Bill.
A Funeral Service in Celebration of Ann’s life will be offered on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10 am DIRECTLY at Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street, Seymour with Rev. Steve Ling officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (opposite Klarides Village, Rt. 67) Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ann’s memory to the Seymour Oxford Food Bank through the funeral home.
