Ann Taradine, age 95, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, 2021, in the comfort of her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Old Saybrook. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles J. Taradine Sr.
Mrs. Taradine was born in Poland on August 1, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Stanislawa Giecewicz Paszul. She was a resident of Ansonia for fifty years, before moving to Old Saybrook twenty years ago. Ann was employed at the W.E. Bassett Co. in Derby for thirty years, until her retirement. She was a long-time communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia and enjoyed bird watching, gardening, quilting and sewing. Having a true love for animals, she rescued and cared for numerous dogs throughout her lifetime.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving daughter, Joanne M. Hurd (Wayne) of Old Saybrook, grandchildren, Lisa Todman (Myron) of Danbury, Jessica McGuire of Shelton, April Garcia (Daniel) of Oxford and Matthew Hurd (Sarah) of Naugatuck, great-grandchildren, Miranda and Madison McGuire, Calissa and Nicholas Todman, Alec Hurd, Parker Garcia, Jacob and Ryan Hurd as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Charles J. Taradine Jr., a brother, Stanley Paszul and sisters, Jane Nowaczyk, Frieda Pawlicki and Loretta Pero.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday February 10, 2021, meeting directly at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby. Masks are required and social distancing is expected. Due to the pandemic, a private family visitation will be held.
