Anna Fishum

Anna Fishum age 98 of Seymour, died peacefully on January 14, 2025 at the Autumn Lake Health Care Center, Waterbury. Born in Seymour on August 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Karp and Irene Brenia Fishum. 

Ms. Fishum was a lifelong resident of Seymour and a graduate of Seymour High School. She worked as an assembler for the former Keystone Pen Company of Wallingford, for over 25 years, until the time of her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed knitting and gardening and was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be long remembered for knitting personalized Christmas stockings for all her nieces and nephews, stockings that have become treasured heirlooms! And for her love of life, she lived every moment to its fullest! 

She is survived by nieces, Irene Viltrakis and her husband, Timothy, of Oakville; Jeanette Croteau of Seymour and Barbara Echevarria of Oxford; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Ms. Fishum was predeceased by sisters, Mary Brenia, Pauline Vinci, Dorothy Breult, Helen Culik, and Sadie Burrows and brothers, Peter and Andrew Fishum. 

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Three Saints Cemetery, Seymour. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
