Anna M. (Barbera) Cowell, age 74, entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2022, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the loving wife of the late Walter R. Cowell.
Anna was born in Derby on April 5, 1948, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna DelVecchio Barbera. A resident of Seymour for over forty years, Anna was employed as a Home Health Aide. Her most enjoyable hobbies were crocheting blankets and traveling with her grandchildren.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Anthony D. Barbera (Kazimiera) of Ansonia, a daughter, Elaine Barbera of North Haven, a brother, Joseph Barbera of Derby, grandchildren, Andrew Barbera and Adam Barbera both of Ansonia, Nicole Moore of Seymour, Tanisha Garris and Channon Garris, both of North Haven, Shawna Garris of Petersburg, Virginia, and David Setzer of New Haven, great-grandchildren, Hailey Moore and Eliza Forbes, her loving dog, Princess, along with several nieces and nephews, especially Mark Langello of Seymour. She was predeceased by brothers, Anthony and John Barbera and a sister, Geraldine Barbera.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday June 27, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:30 am her funeral will proceed to Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
