Anna R. Bruno, 85, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2013, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Bruno.
Mrs. Bruno was born in Ansonia on January 16, 1927, daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Guarcello Abate. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed at the former Hershey Metal Products and Latex Foam both in Ansonia until her retirement. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia serving as president of the St. Ann’s Society and also a member of the Rosary Guild. She was an avid movie goer and a member of T.O.P.S. in Ansonia.
She is survived by 2 daughters, AnnMarie Berlinger (Robert) and Jo-Ann Mott (Angelo Catone) all of Ansonia, a brother, Mario “Mayo” Abate of Naugatuck, a sister, Domenica Mott of Derby, 5 cherished grandchildren, Robert Berlinger (Meghan) of NC, Michelle Schuchmann of Milford, Jennifer McKay of TN, James Berlinger of Ansonia, and Heather Lisi (Robert) of Derby, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Norton and brothers, Vincent, Joseph, and Anthony Abate.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday (TODAY) Jan. 10, 2013, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
