Anthony Foley

Anthony Foley, 75, of Cheshire, formerly of Meriden, beloved husband of 51 years to Carol (Wiesniak) Foley, passed away January 20, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Derby on September 29, 1942, a son of the late Daniel and Jean (Marchetto) Foley.

He worked for Allegheny Ludlum and then for Pratt & Whitney as a statistician until retiring. While working at Pratt he was honored as a Senior Fellow” which was an honor recognizing his dedication to Pratt as a statistician. 

He received a B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University, an MBA from University of Bridgeport, and a Masters in Theoretical Math & Statistics from CCSU. He was very close to obtaining his PhD in Statistics from University of Connecticut. 

He was a member and very active in American Society of Quality Control as well as American Statistical Association.

In his leisure time Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family and was blessed with four grandchildren who he adored. He was a hardworking, kind hearted family man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his daughter, Hannah Watson and her husband, James, of Wallingford; his son, Brendan Foley and his wife, Anne, of Walnut Creek, CA; his grandchildren, Michael Sitro and Anthony Sitro of Wallingford, Danny Foley and Connor Foley of Walnut Creek, CA; his sister, Denise Bedini and her husband, Louis, of Seymour; his brother, Daniel Foley and his wife, Maureen, of Derby; and several nieces and nephews.

Anthony’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 directly at Holy Angels Catholic Church, South Meriden where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be Private.
