Anthony L. Lucas Sr., age 80, of Derby entered into rest on June 25, 2016 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He is the devoted husband of Nancy (Andrews) Lucas.
He was born in Fairfield on Dec. 11, 1935, the son of the late Alex and Philomena (Sileo) Lucas and was a resident of Derby for most of his life.
Tony worked as a machine designer for Producto Machines and then for Nasdaq before his retirement. He was active in the Producto Machines community, playing in both their golf and bowling leagues. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Men’s Club and played in their bocce league as well. He enjoyed playing golf and doing crossword puzzles in his free time. Tony was an avid fan of the NY Knicks and he also rooted for the NY Giants and NY Yankees. He loved watching his grandson Larry play high school and college baseball and he would always go to the games with his brother Al and his cousin Steve. He enjoyed spending time babysitting his grandchildren and he always looked forward to his yearly vacation to the Poconos with his wife Nancy and their family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Lawrence Lucas Sr. and his wife Barbara, Anthony L. Lucas Jr., Steven L. Lucas and his wife Linda, his daughter Kimberly Lucas-Guy and her fiancé Al Kish, his 8 cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Lawrence Jr., Heather, Holly, Anthony, Amy, Kyle and Dylan and his 9 adoring great grandchildren Cassidy, Kellie, Anthony, Kylie, Landon, Luca, Ellie, Brianna, and Harper. He is also survived by his brother Alexander Lucas and his wife Joyce. He was predeceased by his sister Lilian Barnum.
Friends may greet his family on Wednesday June 29, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr. Ansonia. His burial will follow at the Orange Center Cemetery in Orange.
