Anthony L. Sabia

Anthony L. Sabia, 77, of Ansonia, beloved husband of Noela Novack Sabia, passed into the hands of God on January 25, 2011, at Yale-New Haven Hospital, following a short battle with cancer. 

Mr. Sabia was born in New York, NY on February 28, 1933, son of the late Leo and Lucy Nardozza Sabia. He grew up in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School in 1950. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he proudly served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Pitney Bowes but went back to work as a Quality Control Inspector for Radiall Corp. in New Haven. Tony loved wood carving and toy trains. 

In addition to his wife Noela, he is survived by a daughter, Christina Sabia of Ansonia, a son, Christopher Sabia of SC, two grandsons, Jason and Joshua Abdon of WA, a great-granddaughter, a great-grandson, mother in law, Noela Novack of Ansonia, brothers in law, Ronald Novack of Ansonia, and William Novack and his wife Cherri of Seymour, sister in law, Barbara Sultzbach and her husband Charles of Bethany and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his oldest daughter, Toni Ann. 

Per Anthony’s request, his funeral service will be private. Tony’s family extends their heart felt thanks to those at Yale-New Haven Hospital who helped make him as comfortable as possible, and for making it easier for them.
