Antoinette P. Shpak

Antoinette P. Shpak, age 98, entered peaceful rest on October 13, 2022, at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Shpak Sr. 

Antoinette was born at home in Ansonia on June 4, 1924, daughter of the late Louis and Imaculata Sapiente Russo. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed at her brother’s store, the former Hill Street Market in Ansonia. Antoinette was also a sales representative for Avon Products for fifty years. She was a lifelong communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Theodore L. Shpak (Elizabeth) of Shelton and Daniel Shpak Jr. (Judith A.) of Oxford, a sister, Nancy Russo of Ansonia, grandchildren, Lisa Roshkind (Ned), Donald Shpak, Jodi Chrzanowski (Jon), Andrew Shpak (Emily), Daniel Shpak III (Nica), Christopher Shpak (Marielle), Kathryn Shpak, Rebecca Shpak and Kelly Shpak, great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia Roshkind, Dana Bradley, Kyle Shpak, Senia and Natalee Chrzanowski, Kali and Keira Tanase and Ethan, Cassidy, Tristan and Adalyn Shpak, great-great grandson, Archer Bradley and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, T.J. Shpak, great-grandson, Nathan Roshkind, a brother, Anthony Russo and sisters, Rose Hennessey, Josephine Fitzpatrick, and Caroline Criscuolo. 

Relatives and friends may greet the family and pay their respects on Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Antoinette’s memory may be made to Julia Day Nursery, 76 Central Street, Ansonia, CT 06401. When Antoinette’s mother died at a very early age leaving her father with six young children, Julia Day Nursery assisted immensely in helping the family.
