Antonina Kovaleski, age 71 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Ronald Kovaleski, died peacefully on October 17, 2020 at Griffin Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Henrykow, Poland on February 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Boleslaw and Jozefa Florianowicz Lojko.
Mrs. Kovaleski worked as an accountant in Poland for many years until immigrating to the United States in 1992. She then worked as an inspector for the former Latex Foam Co. and Caspari Inc. as an assembler, where she retired from in 2014. Mrs. Kovaleski lived her life to cook and entertain her family and friends. She hosted countless holiday celebrations by preparing her favorite dishes (including her famous pierogi) as well as small family gatherings, where she enjoyed a good game of cards. Antonina was an avid gardener and generously shared the fruits of her labor for all to enjoy. She will be long remembered for her heart of gold, endless energy, gratitude for life, love, devotion for her family and positive spirit.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Dorota Trojak of Fairfield, CT and Beata Pieciukiewicz of Brooklyn, NY; step-children, Mark Kovaleski of Seymour, Karla Kovaleski of TN and Kym Kovaleski of FL; cherished grandson, Oliver Binienda of Fairfield; step-grandchildren, Gwendelyn Kovaleski of TX and Nikki (Chris) Galpin of Torrington; sisters, Leokadia (Czeslaw) Flerianowicz of Oxford, Grazyna (Jozef) Dracz of Canada and Anna (Piotr) Bialoszewska of Canada; sister-in-law, Krystna Lojko of Poland; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Jozef and Leszek Lojko and a sister, Teresa Lojko. Family and friends are invited to attend a walk through visitation at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Please be advised that all protocol, screening and social restrictions of the Covid-19 Pandemic will be exercised.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
