Arlene Catherine Iosso, 78, entered peaceful rest on December 28, 2022, at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport on August 31, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Frank Iosso and Josephine Tranquillo Iosso Capuano. She was a graduate of St. Augustine School in 1958, St. John Nepomucene Commercial School in 1960 and Central High School in 1962, all in Bridgeport. For many years, she was a secretary for Bridgeport Brass, Business Products of Stratford, Bryant Electric, and a Shelton telemarketing firm. She loved playing Rummikub and Skip-Bo with her friends Diane, Roseann, Linda, Joann, and Sandy. She also delighted in playing word search, crossword puzzles and the Connecticut lottery. Arlene was a lifelong lover of music and had an extensive collection of 45 rpm records of Elvis and the Beatles.
Arlene leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brother, Vincent Iosso of Wisconsin, a step-sister, Lois DiGiovanni of Fairfield, along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, especially Gabriel Denby, 6, who visited her frequently in the nursing home. She was predeceased by sisters, Josephine “Dolly” Pisani (Joseph) and Mary Bordeau (Louis), step-sisters, Mary Lou Perillie and Josephine Napolitano, sister-in-law, Maryanne Iosso and step-father, Louis Capuano. The family expresses its sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff on the Northeast 8thfloor of Bridgeport Hospital for their compassionate care of Arlene during her six final months.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday morning, January 5, 2023, from 9:00 – 10:00 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street in Ansonia for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am.
