Arlene Skalandunas DeFeo, July 27, 1939 – August 12, 2024
Arlene entered eternal rest on August 12, 2024 in her home, while being cared for by Randy Vitale, her partner of many years, and her loving family.
Arlene was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and met Anthony DeFeo Sr. at Central High School. They were married in 1959 and moved to Derby, CT in 1968. Before raising her family, Arlene had worked at Schick Safety Razor Company, and over time worked as a representative of both Tony’s Pizza and the Tupperware Corporation, where she earned many accolades and awards due to her charm, drive, and sales ability — but mostly because she just loved people.
Arlene became involved in local civic activities, such as working in the Tax collector’s office and then as a Justice of the Peace for many years. Being a JP gave her immense joy and fulfillment because it allowed her to share in the joy of so many couples. She presided over the weddings of many happy couples, including those of her three children.
Arlene lived a full and beautiful life filled with love and joy. After surviving the devastating loss of her beloved husband, Anthony G. DeFeo Sr. She found love again with Randy Vitale due to her boundless belief in love itself and living life to the fullest.
Arlene is survived by her partner, Randy Vitale, her three children and their spouses: son Anthony DeFeo Jr. and his wife Maryann, daughter Angela and her husband Peter Dunphy, and daughter Patricia and her husband John Marganski. Arlene is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jeremey, Aria, Nicholas, Austin, and Marissa.
Arlene is also survived by her sister Theresa and many nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered with love and respect by all.
