Audrey DeFrancisco, a 93 year old Ansonia resident, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on November 30, 2021, at St Vincent’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Louis DeFrancisco.
Audrey was born in Clevedon, Somerset England on June 13, 1928. She was the youngest of seven children. She was eleven years old when WWII broke out; married an American soldier and came over to the United States as a war bride. She spent her early years in Bridgeport, CT, remarried in 1958 and eventually relocated to Ansonia, CT in 1960 where she resided with her husband, three children, and two stepchildren.
Audrey worked at Marshall Lane Manor in Derby, CT for 15 years. She loved to read, listen to classical music, and spend time with her family. She was known to make a mean cup of tea, grilled cheese, and blueberry buckle. She was a longtime member of Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church in Seymour, CT.
Audrey leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted children, daughter, June Geffert (George) of Ansonia, sons, David Larson of Wallingford and Derek Larson of Ansonia; grandchildren, John Hunt (Michele) of Sandy Hook, Lorri Shortell (Mike) of Ansonia; great-grandchildren, Jordan Hunt, Jessica Hunt, Jailyn Hunt, Michael Shortell, Malori Shortell, Jackson Hunt; and great-great-granddaughter Aria Torres. She was predeceased by her two stepchildren Pauline Loman and Louis DeFrancisco Jr. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent’s Medical Center for their loving care.
Friends and relatives are invited to greet the family on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church, 104 Mountain Road, Seymour. At 3:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Audrey’s life will take place in the church. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with arrangements.
