Barbara A. Anglace, 78, of Seymour, peacefully entered into rest on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick A. Anglace.
Mrs. Anglace was born in Derby on March 8, 1933, daughter of the late William and Anna Ranno Bablonka. A resident of Seymour for most of her life, she was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the former Blue Cross/Blue Shield in North Haven. She also worked as a nurse at St. Raphael’s, the former Laurel Heights in Shelton, and worked private duty. Barbara enjoyed helping and caring for others throughout her nursing career and was a collector of penguins.
She is survived by 2 loving daughters, Cheryl Micknak and her fiance Frank Calo of Waterbury and Janice Anglace of Ansonia, 7 cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Allison, and Alexandra Anglace, Jack, Nick, and Brian Micknak, Kirsten and Wynonna Anglace, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Frederick Anglace Jr. and William Anglace.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St. in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. At the families convenience, her cremains will be placed in a niche alongside her husband in Arlington National Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 pm.
