Barbara A. (White) Scodese, age 87, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, April 14, 2025, in her home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 66 years to the late Vito Scodese. Barbara was born in Flushing, NY, on January 3, 1938, daughter of the late Leonard and Irene (Konarski) White. She attended High School in Flushing, NY and went on to work as a secretary for several companies through the years. She met Vito in 1956, and they got married in 1958. The two lived in East Northport, Long Island NY as well as snowbirding in Florida in their retirement years. They moved to Ct in 2019 for their last years together.
Barbara was a fashionista and loved parties, dancing, jewelry, and shopping. She also enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, and cooking. She loved and adored her family.
She was the beloved mother of Barbara (Gary) Schwenker, Deborah (Randy French) Scodese-French and Lori (Joseph) Todice, cherished grandmother of Christopher (Candice) Sims, Danielle Schwenker-Blumberg (late Tyler Blumberg), Michael (Angelica) Schwenker, Kiana French, Cameron French, Jake Todice and Nicholas Todice, and great grandmother of Charlotte and Cheyenne Sims.. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine LoCricchio (Lenny LoCricchio), sister in law Anne Bocchino ( Bob Bocchino) stepmother, Betty White and several nieces, nephews, and cousins . She was predeceased by two sisters, Joan and Irene White.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all that provided loving care to our mother Barbara.
On Monday, April 21, friends may call from 4 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Tuesday her funeral procession will leave the parlor at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church, 505 Shelton Ave., in Shelton.
