Barbara Ann Dixon

Barbara Ann Dixon, a 79-year-old Ansonia resident entered into eternal rest June 22. 

She was born Feb. 14, 1942 in Derby, daughter of the late Walter Dixon and Titania Fedory Dixon. She worked as a staff assistant in network engineering for S.N.E.T. until retirement. 

She was a lifelong member of Three Saints Orthodox Church in Ansonia, where she also sang in the choir, volunteered as a parish clerk and was a former trustee and council secretary. 

She was also a member of the choir at The Holy Transfiguration Church in New Haven. She was a contributing writer to O.N.E. Orthodox New England journal and a correspondent for the Journal of Federated Orthodox Clubs. Barbara served as an assistant Girl Scout leader, as well as assistant camp counselor at The Girl Scouts’ Camp An-Se-Ox in Oxford, CT. She was also active in The Rainbow Girls. 

She is survived by her brother, Walter Dixon, of East Haddam, CT, and her cousin, Judith Palmer Hoyle, of Ansonia. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia. 

Friends may call AT CHURCH on Friday from 12 NOON to 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to The Three Saints Orthodox Church Arts & Memorial Fund. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
