Barbara Joy Swanson, age 89, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Bishop Wicke Health Center. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Delmore Swanson.
Barbara was born in New Haven, on August 9, 1935, daughter of the late Everett Clifford and Clara Louise (Bristol) Bryan and was a Milford resident before moving to Shelton in 1974. Barbara managed restaurants for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed music and loved cats. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
She was the beloved mother of Cheryl Reilly and her husband Glen, loving grandmother of Lisa Bozzuto and her husband Dennis and great grandmother of Lacey, Dilan and Austin Bozzuto.
On Thursday, May 1st, friends are invited to her graveside service at 9:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery, 308 River Rd., Shelton.
