Barbara M. Eaton, 84, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 7, 2014 at Shelton Lakes. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to William L. Eaton.
Mrs. Eaton was born in Waterbury on February 24, 1930, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Fray Mitchell. Barbara was an avid fan of UConn women’s basketball, NY Yankees, NY Giants and a member of the former Ritz Girl’s Club in Ansonia.
In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by two loving sons, William C. Eaton (Colleen) of Prospect and Gary M. Eaton (Lois) of West Haven, two loving daughters, Pattie McKay Manente (David) of Branford and Nancy Hummel of Naugatuck, two brothers, Russell Mitchell of Seymour and Robert Mitchell (Marie) of OR, a sister, Doris Stocker of Middlebury, 9 cherished grandchildren, William Eaton (Melanie), Erik Hummel ( Cathy), Ryan Eaton (Caitlin), Zachary Eaton, Kenneth McKay, Scott McKay, Melisa McKay, Tracey Hummel and Emily Griffin, 5 great grandchildren, Nathan, Cameron, Alexander, Madeline and Addison and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday July 10, 2014 from 4 to 7 PM in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 PM, a funeral service in celebration of Barbara’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Grove Cemetery in Naugatuck.
