Bartholomew “Bart” Leo Arnold, Jr., age 85 of Ansonia entered into rest on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband and soulmate of 23 years to Debra M. (Flach) Arnold.
Bart was born and raised in Hamden on June 2, 1934, son of the late Bartholomew Leo Arnold, Sr. and Gertrude Winifred (Reynolds) Arnold. He was a detective at Wescon University and a special for the Danbury Police Department for many years before retiring in August 1997.
Bart traveled all over the U.S. with his wife, most of it done on motorcycles. He was a member of the CT Blue Knights. Bart enjoyed camping, the outdoors and helping others. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Bart was the beloved father of Sabrina Arnold Garrison and her husband Mark, Regina L. Arnold Dobson, Michael Leo Arnold and fiance Sara, Andrea L. Arnold, Michael P. Smith and his girlfriend Sandi, Kristy L. Labrecque and her husband Phil, Gary V. Smith, Jr. and his wife Megan and Frederick E. Smith and his wife Elizabeth, loving grandfather of, Niko Reyes, Colby J. and Haley Lynn Labrecque, Seamus Ryan, Jayda and Rory Patrick Arnold and Claudia Rose Smith and brother of Wally Reid and his companion Ginny. Cousin Helen Rose, and Nephew Kevin Flach and his daughter Sabrina.
He is also survived by his four legged son Sam. His funeral service will be announced later. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton is entrusted with his arrangements.
