Beatrice Demmon Gwynne, age 91 peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 27 in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She was
the beloved wife of fifty-five years to the late Thomas J. Gwynne. Beatrice was born Oct. 4, 1931 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Wesley & Myrtle Moran Demmon. A resident of Shelton for over 67 years, she was devoted to her family and was the happiest when they were all together. A special soul, she was loved by all who knew her. She was an avid letter writer and enjoyed her crossword puzzles. She worked as a supervisor for V.A.R.C.A. until retirement.
Survivors include her two loving and devoted daughters Maureen Monaco Miller (Thomas) of Canaan,
and Margaret Lovermi (Peter Jr.) of Ansonia, four grandchildren, Danielle Monaco, (Dante) Vincent Monaco (Jennifer) Allycia Finnucan (Kyle) and Peter Lovermi III (Cheyenne) two great-grandchildren Mason Finnucan and Adalyn Monaco, sisters Lorraine Brookins of Milledgeville, Ga. and Patricia Bradway (Richard) of Shelton, brother Theodore Demmon (Barbara) of Oneonta, N.Y. along with several nieces and nephews who were very special to her. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Marilyn M. Gwynne, sisters Lillian Pierce and Gladys D’Amico and brother Chester Demmon.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 30 at 11:30 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 or to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd.
