Beryl Capewell Valerio

Beryl Capewell Valerio, age 89, of Seymour entered into rest on Friday, April 22, 2022 at her home with her loving family by her side. 

She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony J. Valerio. Beryl was born in Dudley, England on October 3, 1932 daughter of the late Arthur and Phoebe (Wise) Spittle. She worked as a secretary at an all boys school in England. She immigrated to the United States with her husband and two daughters in 1967 on the last Atlantic voyage of the Queen Mary. 

Beryl also known as Belle” worked for ShopRite Supermarket for over 20 years. When she retired she became a mentor at Bungay Elementary School and a volunteer at Seymour Library. She loved to travel and she cherished spending time with her family. To know Beryl was to love her. She was a beautiful person with a heart as golden as they come. She remained a faithful woman her entire life and made a family of her church.

Beryl was the beloved mother of Michelle McCabe and Kim (Mario) Bardelas, loving grandmother of Ashley (Lawrence) Wooten, Mario (Diana) Bardelas and Raquel (Nicholas) Fleming and great grandmother of Crew Fleming and Lawrence Wooten, Jr. Beryl was predeceased by her brother Ronald Spittle and her sister Adeline Spittle. 

Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. Masks are required in the funeral home. On Saturday, friends are invited to go directly to Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church St., Seymour for her funeral service at 10:00 AM. Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
