Betty Giordano

Betty Giordano, age 90, of Shelton, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 with her devoted family by her side. 

Mrs. Giordano was born in Stamford, Connecticut on June 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose (Troncone) DeBlasi and was a Shelton resident for 18 years. Betty’s life took her to Nevada, Virginia and Arizona upon returning to Connecticut. She worked with her husband as superintendent of Hamilton West Apartments in Stamford, while being a homemaker. She enjoyed walking and holding Jim’s hand while strolling around Shelton on a daily basis. 

Betty was very creative making crafts with her grandkids, playing games and enjoyed doing puzzles. She taught her family about family values and was always there when she was needed and ready to help. 

She was the beloved mother of James A. Giordano and his wife Shan of St. Augustine, FL, Frank E. Giordano and his wife Linda of Shelton, CT. She was also survived by her sisters Connie Devito, Corine Lionetti and Carmela Brello, sister-in-law Margie DeBlasi and brother-in-laws Anthony Landi and Philip Giordano. 

Mrs. Giordano was the loving grandmother of Brian Giordano and his wife Gill, Jimmy Giordano and his wife Andrea, Katy (Giordano) LaFollette and her husband David, Joseph Giordano and Theresa Giordano and her fiancee Robert Kimball. She had three great grandchildren Kendra, Lily and James Giordano. Betty was also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband James V. Giordano, brother Pat DeBlasi and sister Madeline (DeBlasi) Landi. There will be a private Christian Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton, CT.
