Bronislawa Karwowska, age 97, affectionately known as “Babcia”, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2022, at Gardner Heights in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugeniusz Karwowski.
Bronislawa was born in Jurzec Panski, Poland on February 10, 1925, daughter of the late Piotr and Bronislawa Smiarowski. She immigrated from Poland to the United States in 1977. Bronislawa worked in Bridgeport Hospital for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed what she loved most which was flower and vegetable gardening, spending her spare time knitting and was happiest when surrounded by her loving family. A devout Catholic, she loved praying the Rosary. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff at Gardner Heights for their wonderful care given to Bronislawa throughout the years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Marianna Turski (Eugene) of Ansonia, Halina Wegiel of Shelton and Jadwiga Wegiel (John) of Ansonia, daughter-in-law, Anna Karwowski of Ansonia, grandchildren, Kathyann Zyskowski (Zbigniew), Christopher Turski (Magdalena), Margaret Pereira (John), Theresa Burden (Fiancé Brian), Andrzej Wegiel (Gosia), Kristina Wegiel-Neelakandan and her husband, Alicia Turski (John) and Gregory Karwowski (Kiyoko), thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Stanislaw Karwowski and son-in-law, Marian Wegiel.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 75 Derby Avenue in Derby.
