Carlo Francucci

Carlo Francucci, 95, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 17, 2011, at Griffin Hospital. He was the loving husband of Concetta DiTomasso Francucci.

Mr. Francucci was born in Cambridge, MA on March 23, 1916, son of the late Nicola and Maria Volpe Francucci. A resident of Ansonia since 1954, he was employed as a machinist at Apex Tool in Shelton for many years until his retirement. Carlo served in the Italian Army during WW II. He was an avid gardener and was a farmer when he lived in Italy. He enjoyed Italian card games, bocce, and especially spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Concetta, he is survived by 3 loving daughters, Maria Montepara (Mario) of Ansonia, Diva Francucci of Derby, and Clelia Beaty (Steven) of FL, 2 brothers, Giovanni Francucci (Camilla) of Derby and Laurino Francucci (Bambina) of MA, a son in law, Giuseppe Monaco of Waterbury, cherished grandchildren, Enrico Montepara (Corinne) of Ansonia, Nicola Montepara (Debbie) of PA, Rosanna Skurat (John) of Naugatuck, Loredana Senetcen (David) of Ansonia, Carla DiGirolamo (Dino) of Hamden, Linda Armistead (Josh) of Ansonia, Angela Nelson (Russ) of Farmington, Mark Mudge of FL, Gloria Powanda (Matt) of Prospect, and Marisa Brimbecombe (Geoff) of Oxford, great-grandchildren, Michele, Cassandra, Nicole, Rebecca, Courtney, Christopher, Taylor, Nicholas, Gabriella, Jared, Brianna, Zachary, Joshua, Christian, Brooke, Colin, Ryan, Morgan, Julianna, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ada Monaco, brothers, Sabatino and Antonio Francucci and a sister, Annunziata Mastrodicasa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday July 21, 2011, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
