Carmela P. Manley, 96, of San Marcos, CA, formerly of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2011, in the comfort of her daughter’s home in San Marcos, California. She was the beloved wife of the late George E. Manley Sr.
Mrs. Manley was born in Ansonia on August 20, 1914, daughter of the late Frank and Angiolina DiNardis Perfetti. She was a language teacher at the Ansonia and Seymour High Schools for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by two sons, George E. Manley Jr. and his companion Paula Cartwright of North Kingstown, RI, and Thomas A. Manley and his wife Barbara Mason Manley of Mansfield, MA, a daughter, Ellen L. Lowe and her husband Michael Lowe of San Marcos, CA, two sisters, Rose Bateman of Port Jefferson, NY and Mary Bartlett of Missouri, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Mario Perfetti and a sister Sylvia Dupuch.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday February 5, 2011, at 9:00 am (MEETING DIRECTLY) at the Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia. Burial will immediately follow in the family plot in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. Per Carmela’s request, there will be no calling hours.
