Carmella “Carmen” Marketto, age 82, of Shelton entered into rest in her home on Thursday, January 16th, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 29 years of the late Robert Marketto. Carmen a was born in Bridgeport on October 5th 1942, daughter of the late Sebastian Angelica and Susan Caiola. After being raised in Bridgeport, Carmen moved to Shelton in 1983 and called it home for the rest of her life.
Carmen worked for many years at Center Deli and Rolling Hills Country Club until her retirement. She took great pride in preparing homemade meals for her customers and had a passion for cooking for her family, especially her famous cajun chicken and chili. Carmen enjoyed country line dancing and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and Andrea Bocelli, as well as enjoying game shows and NCIS. Above all, she cherished her children and was fiercely protective of them, always putting them first. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she was always ready to care for them whenever needed. Some of her best memories were those spent with her loved ones, especially as she watched her grandchildren grow in her later years.
Carmen is the beloved mother of William Angiolillo and his wife Sabrina and Monica Bevilacqua and her husband James, loving grandmother of Brianna, Billy and Felicia Angiolillo and Serena Bevilacqua, sister of Gloria Valentin and her husband William and Rose Marie Goldspink and her late husband Paul “Goldy”. She is also survived by several beloved nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by a brother Sebastian Angelica. Carmen had a love of life, and her fun-loving spirit and sense of humor will be missed by everyone she touched over her life. Our mother and grandmother will forever be in our hearts, and our family will cherish the wonderful memories we made together.
Her family wishes to send a special thank you to all that cared for Carmen, especially her Aide and friend, Claudette, and her physician Coleen McLaughlin who both took such good care of her.
