Carmella Finer, age 99, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at her residence with her loving daughter by her side.
She was the wife of the late Edward J. Finer and the daughter of the late Philip and Catherine (Carriero) Giannino. Carmella, a lifelong resident of Shelton was the retired owner of the former Center Luncheonette in Shelton and a parishioner of St. Lawrence parish. She was a member of the Shelton Senior Center where she enjoyed square dancing and other activities.
Carmella was predeceased by her sisters Martha Skrovanek and Marie Curran. She leaves behind her beloved daughter Judith and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jim Linden for bringing Carmella communion and lifting her spirits with his visits.
On Tuesday, friends may greet the family from 4 to 6 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Wednesday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Her burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery.
