Carmen Anthony Coscia, Sr., age 86, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Bridges in Trumbull.
He was the devoted husband of 24 years to the late Angelina (Pisacane) Coscia. Carmen was born in Salento, Italy on August 5, 1934, son of the late Guido and Antonia (Scarpa) Coscia. He immigrated to the U.S in 1955, attended technical school and began his career as a Mechanical Designer at BF Goodrich in Shelton. He also worked at Philips Medical System in Shelton, Norden and Boeing before retiring to Fort Myers, Florida for 20 years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy. Carmen enjoyed playing bocce in which he competed in national tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing and watching soccer. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.
Carmen was the beloved father of Carmen A. Coscia, Jr. and his wife Linda, Marco Coscia and his wife Luiza, Rita Schryver and her companion Russell Godin and Lydia Savino and her husband Rocco and brother of Frank Coscia. He was the loving grandfather of Nicole, Melissa, Anthony, Tyler, Jason, Aaron, Kimberly, Matteo, Benino, Giordano, Gianna, Davide and Chiara and was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Giocondo Coscia, John Coscia, Antonio Coscia and Raphael Coscia and three sisters, Bruna Peccerillo, Mina Mastrogiavani and Rosa Pedros.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Thursday, friends are invited to his funeral service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. His burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
