Carmine C. Concilio, age 94, entered eternal rest in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Wesley Village Senior Living in Shelton, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of fifty-five years to Madeline Pirritino Concilio.
Carmine was born in Derby on December 22, 1928, son of the late Peter and Anna Federico Concilio. He was a graduate of Derby High School in 1946 and resided in Derby his entire life. Carmine was employed as a materials analyst at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He and Madeline enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and several other countries. Carmine was an avid golfer, voracious reader, especially Westerns, and loved trying his luck with “scratch offs.”
In addition to his wife Madeline, he leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Teresa Sheetz (William) of Prospect and Lisa A. Concilio of San Diego, CA, grandchildren, Peter Statkevich of New York City and Leila G. Sheetz of Prospect as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Alphonso, Harry, John, Pasquale and Frank Concilio and a sister, Nancy Borzelli.
