Carol A. Ghione, age 69, entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2012 at her home in Shelton.
She was the beloved wife of Peter J. Ghione, her husband of 45 years.
Carol was born in Bridgeport on November 23, 1942, daughter of the late Joseph and Sylvia (Fiore) Mastry.
She was raised in Bridgeport and was a proud member of St. Vincent’s Nursing School’s 1963 graduating class. She was employed as a R.N. by Jay J. Esposito, M.D. at PriMed Pediatrics in Trumbull; a position she held for 22 years.
Carol is the loving mother of Nancy Anderson, Marissa Moura, Christine Ghione, and Peter C. Ghione; and the adoring grandmother of Gabriella Ghione, Alexandra Abdo, Joseph, John, and Isabel Moura.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dale Danowski and brother-in-law Charles R. Ghione. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Stuart Marcus, M.D. and the staff of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Kenneth Dressler, M.D., and Paul Bernard, M.D., and the staff of Medical Specialists of Fairfield for their outstanding care.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 28th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Friends are invited directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton on Thursday, March 29th, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
