She continued working at the VA as a nurse for several years, eventually transitioning into the field of pharmacology and then to a home health aid supervisor before retiring.

Carol was a lifelong member of Shelton Congregational Church until its closure and was active in many aspects of the church, including the choir. She then went on to become a member of the Second Congregational Church in Derby.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staffs of Griffin Hospital and River Glen Health Care Center for the care and compassion they showed Carol over the last several months.
