Carol L. Martin, age 79, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She is the devoted wife of 54 years of Stephen Martin. Carol was born in Bridgeport on February 16, 1944, daughter of the late John and Dolores (Cooney) Evanski, and lived in Shelton for over 50 years.
She started her career at SNET, then became a homemaker for 20 years. She went back to work at the former WJ Fantasy Marketing, Inc. and then continued her career at several local businesses until her retirement. Carol enjoyed gardening, reading, boating, singing and walking. She loved family parties, especially Sunday dinners, and simply spending time with her family.
She is the beloved mother of Michele Langlois and her husband Ken, and Danielle Panagiotidis and her husband Bill, and cherished grandmother of Hunter and Hope Langlois and Eleni and Emmi Panagiotidis. Carol is also survived by a sister, Kathy Lombard and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Dolores Murray, Claire Cooney, and Mary Giliotti
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to join her family at her Funeral Mass on Friday, January 12, 2024, at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
