Carrie London

Carrie London, an 82-year-old resident of Ansonia, passed away August 29.

She was born July 7, 1933 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Richard & Bessie Goodson London. 

Carrie was a graduate of the Ansonia High School and worked in the housekeeping Dept. for Griffin Hospital in Derby and the Naiman Family. She was also one of the founding members of The Greater Evangel Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Ansonia, where she also taught Sunday school and served as Church Mother.

Survivors include one son Robert London of Ansonia, brother Frank London (Mary) of Hamden, 2 sisters, Evelyn Lindsey & Serina Dot” (James) Mills, both of Ansonia, God Daughter Diane Stroman, Special Grandsons Lamont Washington and Daniel Jett, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Diaz and Ella Tinney and two brothers Roosevelt and Richard London, Jr. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 11:00 a.m. at The Greater Evangel Temple Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, both in Ansonia. Friends may call on Thursday at church, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service, and those who wish may make donations in her memory to her church.
